Off-Season Schedule

Post by emplep7 »

Now that the draft is officially over, below is the current tentative schedule for the Off-season: (Will be updated with any changes)

06/04-06/06 - Coaching Sim (4 total sims)
06/07-06/10 - Contract Decisions, Second Round Signings Start
06/11 - Free Agency Begins
06/26 - Free Agency Ends
06/27-06/28 - Training Camp
06/29 - Pre-Season Start

As a note, we will look to have the new file out by tomorrow for the coaching sim (All requests in the coaching forum for hirings cannot be processed).

Only 7 days for free agency? That's awfully short isn't it?

Yeah I'm curious to see how they break down the FA sims as there are 20 days in game FA.

I like it. Goes much faster and doesn't drag like it usually does.

Let's be honest here now after day 10-12 most lose interest in free agency.

Just shorten the coaching sims, and give it to free agency. No one cares about the coaches anyways.

Agreed. 2 days should be enough for Coaches
Congrats to season 16 ASL champion SoulKey. For the Swarm!

This is the exact same schedule that we used last year, which seemed to work well but we can look into the coaching vacancies around the league and shortening that to give 2 days back to Free Agency.

Just know that the first 2-3 sims and last sim of free agency is VERY slow when split over 7 days. This would make it even slower.

I would like this as 6/14 is literally the worst possible day for free agency to start for me. I'll be traveling

I support anything that doesn't make it slower.

I support anything that speeds this up. We already have to wait another 10 days before we can post deals that are contingent on contract decisions, and then 2+ weeks for s/t's.

This is really dragging.

What are we supposed to write about, etc?

2 days for coach sims, 2 days for contract decisions imo. 4 days for contract decisions is also way overkill

Keep in mind that the admins/simmer have to input everything. I prefer having admins that didn't burn out over a 2 days faster offseason. Please have some respect for the guys.
Look at what happened to donkey.

I never understood this mindset.

Respect the 3 guys behind the scenes and screw the other 27 of us, right?

Some people have been waiting nearly two months in Real Life to do anything relevant to their team.

Agree. If people have no time or feeling burned out, there are plenty here that can step up where required.

You guys can easily start an own league. Not sure why you complain, to be honest.

@andrei: who do you think should become an admin?

I'm glad you're not an admin anymore. You're not really a people person.

Honestly, no idea why you guys can't grant them a few days to get everything done. It's a lot work.

Contract decisions don't take that long to input though - nor is it a difficult process.

Keep in mind they also need to input the rookies etc.
It's not only contract decisions. You can believe me, between now and FA they have to do some stuff.

On top I believe 4 days for contact decision is fair. We have GMs that don't check the page every day nor every second day. So they should have the chance to make decisions too.
